“The Visual Beauty of the Bound." The art of Japanese Bondage is not just in the function of bondage.  “Japanese rope bondage understands, incorporates and represents the drama of fantasy and sexual desire.”

I received this book as a gift and I truly see it as a gift.  The pictures are both erotic and beautiful.  The author gives you a brief historical back ground of the use of rope in Japan.

The author speaks to the setting of a scene with both perspectives of the top and the bottom.  He gives a glimpse into the thoughts and feelings that are occurring with the binding, the whole scene and the sensations that can occur with the removal of the ropes and insight into aftercare.

The book gives explanations as to the types of rope as well as care of the ropes.  Tools and equipment that are needed.  There is even a section on safety concerns and what to watch for so the bottom isn’t injured within the scene.

The book gives instructions on seven different positions to include, Breast bondage with open crab legs, arm and chest bondage. Tortoise shell body harness. Crossed Leg bondage. Bamboo rod. Crotch harness with partial suspension.  The hog tie.

The instructions for the positions are easy to read and to follow, I was able to look at the book and begin practicing with out too much frustration.  I would suggest that when you are practicing and starting this with your partner, let them know that this may take some time.  Tensions rise when one partner doesn’t want to devote the time into the process.  This is actually something the book discusses.  Be sure to have open communication between the top and the bottom.  If something doesn’t feel right or if extremities are starting to get numb the bottom needs to be able to communicate that to the top.

I have found myself interested in rope bondage and reading and starting to practice wit this book as peaked my interests even more.  This is a great book for beginners and for an introduction to Japanese rope bondage.  I would definitely purchase again and suggest it to others.
