Clitoraid is an organization who's primary focus is rebuilding women who have been victims of Female genital Mutilation. A secondary mission of the organization is to raise public awareness about the clitoris.
They have declared May 6 to 12 to be the first ever "International Clitoris Awareness Week" a seven day period designed to celebrate the female body part.
According to Nadine Gary , Clitoraid spokesperson "Sexual expression brings self-esteem and inner balance, so let's revere the clitoris in all it's glory while completely free of shame and guilt!"
