The Beginner's Bit gag really is for beginners.  It is a simple design with inexpensive materials that doesn't cost much to try.  Experienced users of Bit gag's and BDSM play would be very disappointed in this one.  For beginner's it is great to give you a "feel" for bit gags and how they would work for you.  You can use this for pony type of play or for beginner your adventures into BDSM and gagging.

The Beginner's bit gag is made of PVC plastic for the gag mouth piece and it is able to be bitten into and it leave marks in the plastic.  The PVC is non porous, hypoallergenic and can be sanitized between users.  The metal rings hold the vinyl straps to the PVC.  It is not stated anywhere if the metal is nickle free.  The vinyl straps are vegan friendly.  The straps are made in a way that you can make more holes in the vinyl to adjust the sizes for the wearer. The  rivets  and the buckle are make of an inexpensive metal. There are no smells to this gag and straps and there are no tastes associated with it.

The PVC plastic portion of the gag is approximately 5 inches long.  It has a diameter of  3/4 inch. The straps are 1/2 inch wide.   The strap that contains the holes is  14 inches long.  The strap with the buckle is 7  3/4 inches long.  The buckle is 1 inch by 3/4 inch wide.  There are 4 holes in the strap for adjustments.  The holes are placed approximately 1  1/4 inches apart.

None of the pre set holes worked for our sizing and we had to make new holes to get the bit to fit properly.  The vinyl was very easy to make new holes in.  The vinyl is actually very thin and it is double layered.  It was already starting to separate when the product arrived before we even tried the gag on.  The metal rings that hold the vinyl straps to the PVC are flexible and they move freely through the pre drilled holes in the PVC.  The straps move freely along the metal rings so that you can determine your perfect fit easily.

The straps are long enough to be able to accommodate many sizes of heads and you they are long enough to be worn across the upper back portion of the head or around the lower portion of the head as per the wearer's preference.  The vinyl straps do start to give with wear.  They also tend to slide around on the hair making so that you have to readjust frequently.

The Bit also comes with a free blindfold that is very basic.

The PVC plastic may also cause some discomfort in the jaw and with the teeth as it has no "give" to it.
The PVC plastic is easy to clean with antibacterial soaps and water as well as the straps.  I wouldn't soak the straps in water or cleaning material as I don't see the straps holding up very well.  It would be better to clean them with a wet wash cloth.  Also the inexpensive metal may corrode if you don't dry it all the way.
The Bit can be stored in a drawer, a baggy or in the box that it comes in.  The box is not discreet with a picture of a woman wearing the bit and there is product information on the box.

The Beginner's Bit  Gag is named appropriately because this really won't last and wouldn't work for hard core play.  It is made from flimsy inexpensive materials that won't last for a long time period.   I am able to swallow and speak with the gag in and there is some drooling with it after wearing it for extended periods of time.

We tend to play around and Skirt around  BDSM in our bedroom.  We play a little with blind folds and floggers.

I love the sensations from the floggers and a little impact play.  The hubby really doesn't like to use the restraints too much, but he does.  I have lots of toys and he has no issues with those. The floggers and paddles were a big compromise and, we have both found out that we like them. 

We keep it fun though and we are open minded.  There have been a few times that he told me "hell no" so I put the toy away and try to bring it out at a later date.   It tends to be an evolutionary process for us.

We will continue to experiment and play.....

Leather Slapper

This one has one hell of a sting to it.  It actually stings worse that solid paddles.


The split leather has 2 layers that slap together as it hits your skin giving it an extra punch.  The leather glides across your skin nicely and adds for some wild sensations.


The leather slapper has a total length  of 17 ½ inches.  It is 2 ¼ inches across.  The leather split portion is 6 inches up from the end.  The handle portion has a width of 1 ¼ inches and fits easily into your hand.  The ring at the end has a nylon strap that will fit around your wrist and allow you to hand the slapper when not in use.

You can clean up the slapper with a damp wash cloth and condition it with any type of commercial leather care products.  It smells wonderful to those of use who like the smell of leather.  In the inside of the slapper the leather is not finished, it is not dyed like the outsides.

You can store this one between your mattress and box spring if you may have prying eyes or hang it on a hook in your room if discretion is not needed.  This slapper should last you for years of play.


Make sure that you have open lines of communication so that you know when your sub has had enough and watch for non verbal signs that you may be hurting them more than you intend to.



The slapper leaves some bright red marks on the skin and it is best used on the buttocks but you can use it on other areas.  It really does sting more than thud.  Make sure you do some rubbing on that oh so sensitive skin when you are done.

I really cannot tell you which I prefer more the thud of a paddle or the sting of the slapper, each is a completely different sensation.

Small Carbon Cane

I like this one, it is also my little wand depending on what my intentions are for my play time.  The Spanksticks latex small carbon cane is great for all levels of BDSM play and it is great for beginners as it is non intimidating.

  The small cane is a total of 14 inches or 35 cm long and it is 2 mm thick.  It has an inner core made from carbon. The handle portion is 4 ¼ inches of the end with a ring present and a thicker end portion. On the end that hits there  is a slightly rounded tip.

It is then coated in several layers of latex. The shorter cane makes for a nice snap and an attention getter and it doesn’t sting or cause as much pain as the longer canes do.  It does leave marks on the skin.  The marks don’t seem to be as deep as the ones that the longer canes can achieve. It does sting as it hits.  The latex will stick to the skin somewhat. The latex is flammable so be very careful if you are performing any wax play or use of candles around the canes.

 The latex does get fingerprints in it and it can be marred or dented.  The latex will get dull it you don’t clean it. You can clean it with soap and water or rubbing alcohol.  The latex is compatible with any types of lubes but be sure to clean the cane after use because skin oils and secretions can eventually damage the latex coating.  I had found that silicone lubricant will make the latex shine very well.

This one is great to start out with as it is non intimidating in it’s appearance and it’s whipping noise that it makes when it goes through the are is not as powerful as the whipping noises you get with the larger canes.  It is a nice “wand” to use to get attention with and start your play time.

Cross Paddle

This is a fun paddle to get things warmed up in the bedroom.  Mainly your bottom.  It will leave some marks on the skin and even though it has the raised crosses on it  doesn’t really leave an impression on my skin, it may on yours.

The cross paddle is made from polyethylene plastic that has been coated in several coats of Latex. *** Please, if you have any sensitivities to Latex or a Latex allergy this should not be handled or used for the top or the bottom.***  The paddle is very firm and only has a small amount of give to it.  The polyethylene  is a thermoplastic that has high stress crack resistance.  It is impact resistant.  The latex gives the paddle some drag to it and doesn’t glide across the skin very easily.  It has high smacking power and you can definitely feel it.  The paddle will leave marks that match the outer edges of the paddle.

The paddle is 13 inches long and  2 inches across.  It is 1 cm thick.  It has 3 cross shaped patterns that are raised approximately 1/8 ths inch.  They are placed at different increments on the paddle.  The Handle area has two raised areas to help with your grip and there is a hole in the end for the leather cording to go through.  The leather cording can be worn around your wrist with use and it is useful  for hanging your paddle.

The latex is flammable so be very careful if you are performing any wax play or use of candles around your paddles.  The latex does get fingerprints in it and it can be marred or dented.  I am careful to store my paddle away from things that can scratch it. It hangs nicely on my bedroom wall so it also works as a great art piece too!  It is easy to clean with soap and water and can be shined using alcohol.

This has turned out to be a frequently used toy in our bedroom as some people don’t behave very well, It needs to be welded carefully as if the top doesn’t pay attention you could cause some damage with this one.  I have only used it in the buttocks area but you could use it on different areas of the body.

I am a beginner and in no  way want to make anyone think any differently.  I chose to start with the rope that is available at Agreeable agony because I really like the way that their rope looks.  It looks soft and they have amazing varieties of colors.  In starting my search for rope I found that many sources say that the types of rope that people use is simply personal preference.  For making basic knots and simple bondage techniques most ropes will work.  It is when you get into suspension and more exotic types of bondage that the types of ropes and the strength of the rope becomes a concern.

I really don’t like the look of the hemp style rope and after speaking to people who use it, it sounds like a whole lot of care and maintenance that I don’t want to have to deal with as a beginner.  Perhaps if I move further into rope bondage that might become an option.  The whole idea of running out to the hardware store or going to the garage for some rope really didn’t appeal to me either.  That nylon rope in the garage hurts my hands when I have had to deal with it and I don’t want that wrapped around my body!

The rope that I purchased and the rope supplied to me by Agreeable Agony is a ¼ inch Solid Braid MFP.  So what the heck is MFP, Multi Filament  polypropylene.  This means that the rope is made with colored filaments and the colors will not bleed.  The rope is resistant to most oils and lubes.  It is waterproof  and you can throw it in your washing machine to clean it up.  It is best to allow it to air dry but don’t place in direct sunlight as the sunlight could cause your rope to fade.

The rope ends are finished so that they will not unravel with use.  There are many resources available on how to finish your cut ends if you need to cut the rope to your  needed lengths.

This rope is soft and it has some give to it when you pull it.  You can move it back and forth in your fingers and  you can feel the give.  It is still possible to get rope burns from this type of rope so be careful with play.  Be sure to have your safety shears with you when wrapping your partner up as you want to be able to have an escape mechanism if needed.

I am still learning and I have my books so that I can learn to tie all the neat designs.  For a beginner this rope is awesome and non intimidating, it doesn’t require high maintenance and it is reasonably priced.   It is meeting all of my needs and I would definitely purchase it again and probably will in more colors.  I can easily rate this one a 5 out of 5.

This is a very simple, bare bones type of leather collar, it is actually quite comfortable despite the fact that it is not lined.  If you leave it a little loose you can turn it so that the D ring is towards the back for more versatility with tethers and leashes.

The collar is made form leather and it softens up with use.  It is very stiff when it initially arrives and you can get it wet and wear it to get it to form to your shape making it much more comfortable also.  You can clean it up with a wet warm wash cloth and  then some saddle soap.  It smells absolutely wonderful if you like the smell of leather which I do.  It is plain black with no frills so it looks more masculine so some females may prefer the colored embellished types of  collars.  Men may prefer this one.

The outer layer of leather is 19 inches long, the buckle with rivets is present at one end,  9 inches from the end is the D ring with 2 sets of rivets present on each side of it.  There are also 2 rivets present at 5 inches in on each end.  On the opposite end there are the holes for adjustments, the holes are placed ½ inch apart.  There are a total of  10 holes present.  The inner layer of leather that sits next to your neck is  19 ½ inches long.  The inner leather has a width of 1 ½ inches and the outer layer is 1 inch.

You can extend the collar to 18 inches, and make it as small as 6 inches.  It will work on a variety of neck sizes.  Some males may find it too tight if they have a larger neck.  The D ring is 1 inch across.  This is a very sturdy collar which should last for years. The inner leather side that comes in contact with the neck is actually buttery soft.  I prefer a padded collar but this one is very soft and non chaffing.

Although it is very simple this collar demands performance.  With the D ring you can slip an finger through it to move your submissive where you want them, you can tether it to lashes and to a variety of devices.  I am very impressed and with the price you cannot go wrong.  This collar is appropriate for all from beginners to advanced BDSM users.  It is very sturdy and should last for years of play and abuse.

I can easily rate this one a 5 out of 5, it has no flaws.

These cuffs are for the beginners!  They are actually really strong considering that they are held together with Velcro.  They are non intimidating and actually quite comfortable.

Material

They are made from a nylon faux fur  and they have Velcro closures.  The faux fur doesn’t have any stitching on the edges and they don’t unravel or have any construction issues.  They did shed a little lint when they were new.  There are a few pills starting on the fur after many usages.

The Velcro is sewn into place down the center of the cuff, and where there is no Velcro there is a heavy bonded webbing that holds the key ring type of attachments.  One of the cuffs has a locking slide type of hook attachment.  It is similar to the ones that attach on dog leashes.  Please refer to the picture because I don’t know what it is called.












Size

The cuffs are 10 inches long, the Velcro coming off of the cuff is 5 ½ inches long.  The softer portion of the Velcro is what the overhang consists of.  I have 6 ½ inch wrists and the cuffs fit me very well, My husband has an 8 inch wrist and they work on him too.  So you can adjust for multiple and larger sizes.  These do fit on to my ankles which are 9 inches around.

The key ring type of attachments sits right in the middle at 5 inches.  The cuffs have the sport sheet logo sewn into the Velcro area.  The cuffs come in multiple colors,  The red that I have, black, light pink and hot pink.

The cuffs can be attached together with the slide hook or connect them to tethers and to other type of restraint devices.

These clean up with a wet washcloth, there is no care instructions included but do to the metal attachments, they would need to be removed prior to placing in a washing machine.  I wouldn’t suggest washing and drying them.

These are quite sturdy but I wouldn’t consider them for any hard play.  If you work them enough they will come loose especially after months of play.  These are great basic cuffs for beginners.

They come from Sportsheets in an envelope type of box with product information on the box and pictures of the other colors.

Overall these are a sturdy pair of cuffs,  Great for beginners, they are comfortable and fit a wide range of users.  I am glad that I can use them on my ankles.
